Some took it further, conducting “interviews” over Telegram and telling the candidate they were hired. The catch? The new employee had to pay for their own “home office equipment” through a specific vendor, with the promise of reimbursement. The vendor was, of course, the scammer, and the “job” never existed, leaving the victim unemployed and out of pocket.
